I wake up this morning and the time has finally come, this site is a mess. Thankfully it seems some of the overall performance issues have been fixed so it doesn't lag so bad, but it's still noticeably slower than the original site. The main thing that really hits and saddens me with the shift here is just how...cold the site feels. Just last night I was flipping through user's pages, going back and forth on my own page as the hub of my activity on the site, and it really felt alive and individualized and interesting. Now everything is..uniform, cold, empty, rigid. My desire to browse the site and look at other people's pages feels diminished, this place just feels so empty now. Even checking notifications feels weird and wrong, they've taken out all the bright colors and made all the icons smaller and half faded and hidden, it's like they really just tried their damndest to remove all color from the site.

As of now I don't plan on leaving necessarily, but let's just say I suddenly now feel like I should look into instagram and consider making an account there. I'll really miss the old site, it was warm and alive and filled with art and individualism....this feels like a graveyard.

Quick update

1 min read
To those concerned, I'm gonna be completely unavailable this weekend. I'll be at a German language learning summer camp, but just for a weekend trip, and it's a no phones or electronics allowed kinda event so that means no DA. I'll be back at some point late Sunday, so if you've got important business to discuss I won't see it till then.
See you all when I get back!

(PS: I'll be posting music on Thursday this week, so look forward to that. Got a new band to show you guys)

Mini rant time

Okay, I've got some art I'll be posting very soon, but I just gotta say quick SOCIETY 6 ABSOLUTELY SUCKS. If you haven't heard of it, S6 is a site like TeePublic or RedBubble that runs off independent artist's art. As far as actual products it seems that S6 offers some really nice things of good quality, so if you're interested in buying something there, and you have the money for it, I'd say go for it. But if you're looking to sell there you better have the patience of a perfect saint because their website design is garbage. Everything lags like you wouldn't believe, their product formatting is an enormous pain in the ass, they don't even let you change background colors, I honestly dread the nightmare that is posting things on their site every time I have to do it. And to top it all off, they make you pay 1$ to even make an account from the start.
If you're looking to sell your art through a third party, please for the love of god save yourself the headache and use TeePublic or RedBubble, they both have fantastic user interfaces and product formatting for sellers, and they're free to sign up and start selling.
By comparison S6 is a horrid mess.

I haven't even made my dollar deposit back yet...

Just got my first drawing tablet of my own (previous was a cheap hand down from my friend, but it helped me get started) and it is so freaking cool!! It's the wacom intuos Pro, got it for my birthday and I'm setting that sucker up today! Also just got back from metacon yesterday, and I did a bunch of sketching and drawing while I was there. I'm likely going to be posting and/or doing line art of a few of those sketches at some point
And lastly, I've got some Detox stuff on file that I've finished and will be posting soon, just have to write up some things ;P
